Srinatha Yoga

When Venus, Mercury, and the lord of the 9th are strong – in their sign of exaltation, own sign, or a friend’s sign, and all three occupy kendra or trikona positions we get Srinatha yoga.

Srinatha yoga bestows wealth, splendor, and respect from others. They have a virtuous spouse and noble children. The person’s speech is soft, pleasant, and witty. This yoga combines the house of fortune (9th house) with the graha signifying luxuries and the graha signifying intellect and business. This makes for a very fortunate person blessed with wealth and intellect.

Srinatha Yoga
Bill Gates

Bill Gates’ chart is the perfect example of this yoga. He is wealthy, soft-spoken, and respected by others. He has a virtuous wife and good children.

  • Venus is in its own house in the 5th house (trikona)
  • Mercury is in its own house in the 4th house (kendra)
  • The 9th lord is Saturn, which is exalted in the 5th house (trikona)

Srinatha yoga is part of a triad of yogas – Srikantha, Srinatha, and Virinchi. All three yogas need three planets to be in strong positions and in Kendra and Trikona. Srikantha relates more to power, Srinatha relates more to money, and Virinchi relates more to intelligence.

Bhadra Mahapurusha Yoga

Mercury

There are five mahapurusha yogas, collectively called Pancha mahapurusha yogas. The five true planets – Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn – create each of the five mahapurusha yogas. Mercury forms the Bhadra mahapurusha yoga. There are two requirements for this yoga

  1. Mercury is in its own sign or in its sign of exaltation
  2. Mercury is in a kendra (1,4,7,10) house from the lagna (ascendant) or the Moon

Mahapurusha yogas pertain to success achieved through action. Therefore, classical texts indicate Kendras because they are the houses of action. If the yoga repeats from the ascendant and the Moon it is doubly strong because it indicates confluence. It is a strong placement even if the planet is in a trikona (5,9) house.

The qualities of the yoga are directly related to the qualities of Mercury. Therefore, one born with Bhadra mahapurusha yoga is intelligent and eloquent in speech. He or she is learned, rich, and prosperous.

For example, Agatha Christie is a good example of this yoga. She was prolific writer. Agatha Christie is recognized by the Guinness World Records as the best selling novelist of all time. She also wrote the world’s longest running play, “The Mousetrap”.
