Coronavirus – The Spread
The Coronavirus – The Beginning blog indicates the astrological pattern at the root of the start of this pandemic. The key factors are Rahu and Ardra, a solar eclipse, seven grahas in the Gemini-Sagittarius axis, a weak Jupiter, and finally all malefics aspecting Rahu. Essentially, the focus is all on Rahu and how strong Rahu is. The Coronavirus – The Spread analyzes the events following the solar eclipse that lead to the spread of the virus throughout the world.
January 2020
Thailand reports its first case on January 13th. This is the first case outside China. Japan reports its first case on January 16th. From January 16th through January 31st, many countries, including United States, Russia, UK, France, Italy, Germany, India, and Australia report their first cases.
Astrologically, the first significant event is Ketu moving into Moola nakshatra. This happens on January 16th 2020. Moola’s diety is Niritti, the goddess of destruction. Ketu is in its own nakshatra as per the Vimshottari dasha sequence. This makes Rahu and Ketu powerful because they are both in their own nakshatras. The combination of Ardra (Rahu) and Moola (Ketu) is highly destructive.
A strong Rahu and Ketu help spread the virus around the world. Gemini is an air sign and the virus spreads through air. Sagittarius is a fire sign and the symptoms of the virus is high fever. Rahu, the head of the snake, determines the direction of spread. Gemini represents West and therefore, the virus spreads west affecting the western world.
The next significant event is Saturn’s transit into Capricorn on January 24th. Capricorn and Saturn represent contraction. On January 24th China locks down Wuhan province. Also, Saturn moves into the 8th house from Rahu. The eight house represents death.
Sun does move to Capricorn in January. However, Sun is not at home in Saturn’s sign and therefore it is weak through its transits of Capricorn and Aquarius.
February 2020
The only thing worse than the Rahu-Ketu tandem is adding Mars to the mix. Mars signifies violence and Mars moves into Sagittarius on February 8th 2020. The coronavirus death toll exceeds that of the SARS epidemic of 2002-3 on February 9th 2020.
The death toll steadily climbs. On February 11th the death toll crosses 1,000. February 19th sees the death toll crosses 2,000. On March 1st the death toll crosses 3,000.
March 2020
The trifecta of Rahu, Ketu, Mars cause havoc from February 8th to March 21st. In this time, the WHO declares coronavirus as a pandemic. The worldwide death toll on March 21st reaches 13,000. States and countries issue lockdowns. Finally, the DOW falls 9,000 points or 30% from ~29,000 on February 10th to ~20,000 on March 21st. The coronavirus spread gains full speed during this period.
Mars transits into Capricorn on March 22nd 2020. Jupiter follows by transiting into Capricorn on Mar 30th 2020. These transits create a new focus in the chart competing for attention with the Rahu-Ketu axis. Capricorn is very strong with Mars in its sign of exaltation, Saturn in its own sign, and Jupiter in its state of debilitation. Jupiter’s debilitation is, however, canceled by Mars and Saturn causing neecha-bhanga raja yoga for Jupiter.
On March 27th, Venus also gains strength by moving into Taurus, its own sign. Therefore, after the Mars transit on March 22nd, Mars, Saturn, and Venus have primary strength and Jupiter is strengthed by neecha-bhanga raja yoga.
At the time of this blog (April 12th 2020), the stock market has gained 40% from its March 21st lows and stands at ~24,000. However, the worldwide death count has grown exponentially from 13,000 on March 21st to a staggering 110,000 deaths worldwide on April 12th. Also, the entire world is under lockdown, increasing the number of unemployment claims.
